Lee Tucker is a photographer and an artist in New Orleans, U.S. and. He received the New Orleans mayor's Art Award for his artwork and his civic work. He has served as a board member of New Orleans Children's Art Programs. He is a board member for Friends of Jackson Square. He is an advisor to the board and board member for French Quarter Citizens for Preservation. He has a studio in the historic Upper Pontalba and displays and paints at Jackson Square on St. Peter Street. Lee Tucker has been done promotional photography for architects and interior designers.
Walker Evans
Walker captured and recorded the life of American People during the Depression era- America and subjective vision that became documentary photography.
Walker visited New Orleans twice in his life to capture straightforward images of the city’s people in their habitats and beautiful architecture. In this famous photograph, a Bourbon Street barbershop’s quirky striped façade with the woman standing in the doorway incorporates the essence of having to work for a living and the black and white enhances on the Depression era, from which this photograph is taken from. It is found in the Robert Klein Gallery.
Chandra McCormick
She is a NOLA native and she has captured the African American culture for decades now, since the 80's. A lot of her work incorporates the Lower 9th Ward. She photographs from Voodoo, to blues and people in incarceration. She shows the struggle and the joy of the the African American culture through her photography.
