A City That Speaks Through Art

While walking through Jackson Square there is an abundance of local artists that set up to sell their creations. There are over twenty different art galleries throughout the French Quarter. Most of the art work featured by local artists, depict landscapes, fluer de lis, or historical revelance to the city. New Orleans is a proud city and is especially proud of their rich history. By viewing the different artists works, the story of the city's history can be told.

All through New Orleans, there is a hum of music in the air. There are young men tap dancing on homemade tap shoes. There are young and old musicians that play jazz and rhythm and blues. There are drummers, singers, and dancers. Walking down the street, each store has music drifting out. There are bands that will play while walking in the road even though there is not a parade going on. The general feel of the world that surrounds New Orleans, is a celebration of being alive. The music, performance artists, and art work tells the history and current culture of the city.
